Chris grew up in Ottumwa, Iowa. He started singing in choirs around 8 or 9 and started playing guitar around 13. After attending Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA, Chris started to gain appreciation for American roots and rock music. Artists that have influenced his sound include Tim O’Brien, Darrell Scott, Grateful Dead, John Mayer, Jack Johnson, Doc Watson, and The Allman Brothers. He has dedicated his last couple years to learning the art of flat picking the acoustic guitar and is currently studying under the tutelage of renown flat picking virtuoso Bryan Sutton.
Chris has been playing semi-professionally for the last couple years with over 40 shows per year including one of the highlights of his musical career in performing with his band Siouxgrass Revival for the Sioux River Folk Fest and sharing a stage that was once shared by a few names above. Chris is currently finishing the production of his first Americana Roots album set to be released this year.
